Personal Statement:

Dr. Yisui Xia, Professor, and doctoral supervisor. Dr. Xia was selected into NSFC Science Fund Program for Excellent Young Scientists (Overseas) in 2024. Dr. Xia obtained his Ph.D. from the College of Biological Sciences at China Agricultural University in 2016. From 2016 to 2023, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Karim Labib laboratory at the Medical Research Council Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitylation Unit, University of Dundee. In 2023, Dr. Xia e joined the School of Basic Medical Sciences at the Health Science Center of Shenzhen University, and in 2024, he was appointed as a professor.

Over the years, Dr. Xia has been dedicated to uncovering the molecular mechanisms of the eukaryotic DNA replication process. His representative achievements include: identifying the first replication initiation factor that is specific and essential in higher eukaryotes; revealing the separation and activation mechanism of the yeast replication helicase CMG; and in vitro reconstitution of the core reaction of metazoan replication termination. Dr. Xia has published a total of 9 papers in high quality journals such as Science, the EMBO Journal, Cell Reports, and EMBO Reports as the first or corresponding (including co-corresponding) author..
